ORGANISATION BACKGROUND

CENTRE FOR DIGNITY (CFD)a non-governmental organization was founded by a group of students & volunteers in the year 2013. It is registered under Society Registration Act 1860, also registered under 12 AA and 80 (G).
VISION – Promote agriculture in fallow lands.
MISSION –To restore & develop water sources & create micro-level irrigation infrastructures.
APPROACH –To organize planned effort in collaboration with People, Government and Partner Agencies to provide assured irrigation facilities for more than one crop whilepromoting market focused agriculture programmes.
Sustainable livelihood promotion for the rural poor has been one of our main thrust areas of work. Besides, natural resource management and livelihood opportunities in non-farm sector are explored and promoted for the landless and women and youths.


OBJECTIVES
• Development of agriculture in hilly and non-irrigated area.
• Creation of infrastructure for irrigation.
• Increasing the ratio of irrigated land with respect to the total cultivated areas.
• Increasing agricultural productivity.
• Motivating & creating scope for more than one crop.
• Arrange agricultural demonstrations, exhibition, and group discussion.
• Educate farmers and farmer’s family about new technology in agriculture.
• Formation SHG groups & linking them to the financial institutes.
AREA OF OPPERATION
Centre For Dignity works in Daringbadi block of Kandhamal District& JN Prasada block of Ganjam District on Agriculture, Education& LivelihoodPromotion.

SECTOR WISEIMPACT AND ACHIEVEMENTS

1. Agriculture and Irrigation: We are committed to support assured irrigation in five villages of Greenbadi GP of Daringbadi Block.

2. Self Help Groups Formation & Women Empowerment: As on May 2018, CFD is working with 200 SHG's across 2 districts, representing a total membership of 2400 rural women.

3. Employments - We assist the PRI members and help the adult members of the villages to get hundred days of work through MGNREGA.We worked in 6 Gram Panchayats of Koraput districts and that covers 60 villages& 2 Gram Panchayts of Ganjam District covering 20 villages. Presently, we are working in three GPs in of Kandhamaldist covering 10 villages.

4. Education and Children – In the remote villages, where there is no school we appoint an educated youth from the same village as teacher to teach the children. We give special attention to convince the parents to send their drop-out girl child to school.We are running 8 schools in remote tribal villages in Ganjam District.

5. Safe Drinking Water: We facilitated to make dug-wells in Daringbadi
