To keep SGNP plastic-free zone and create opportunities for the women and youth by teaching them skill sets by making products out of plastic bottles and waste. Also skills in stitching, cooking, and handicrafts, according to their best abilities. They are shown different ways of earning a living by being creative, innovative and this helps them be financially independent, thus reducing the dependency on forest resources. We have initiated a program, “Green thumb”, so as to create opportunities for women who have in-depth knowledge of plants, their benefits, and goodness so that by using their knowledge and skill of plants, could open revenues and livelihoods. This would in turn help maintain our green environment, and the lungs of Mumbai to thrive.
To increase more handicraft opportunities for women who are working from home and to promote eco - friendly products and preserve the forest and environment.
